Lilac

Lilac

Lilac carries a dense web of grey-purple veining across a white marble, with thin gold veins running between them here and there. The veins are fine and highly branched, spreading like frost on glass, and the purple deepens wherever they gather. In Türkiye it is known as Leylak, and it is exported as Lilac and Milas Lilac. What separates it from the other veined whites is the violet cast. From across a room it reads as a warm grey. At arm's length it is unmistakably lilac. It is chosen where a plain white would be too little and a coloured stone too much: bathroom walls, vanity tops, a single feature wall.
