Spider Dolomite

Spider Dolomite takes its name from its veining. Fine coral and rust-pink lines spread like a web across a bright white ground. Where the threads gather the colour turns to warm apricot, and elsewhere the stone falls back to almost pure white. It is also listed as Dolomite Spider, Golden Spider and, after its region, Marmara Dolomite. It is a decorative stone that stays light. The white ground opens a room as a plain white would, and the web gives it a signature. Book-matched, the two halves meet at the joint and read at full height as a single drawing. It does its best work in small, considered rooms: a boutique washroom, a bar front, a countertop under warm light.
