Classic Travertine
Classic Travertine is the warm beige travertine of Denizli, the stone the region has exported for generations and the material most people picture when they hear the word. This is its cross-cut face: a light cream-honey ground clouded with ivory and deeper beige, with small open pores spread evenly through it. It is also listed as Denizli Travertine, Pamukkale Travertine and Ivory Cream Travertine. Travertine has been a building stone for two thousand years, and the reasons are practical. It turns into something better with time. Courtyards, terraces, façades, pool surrounds, spa floors: surfaces meant to look as though they had always been there. Vein-cut material from the same stone, ordered into horizontal bands, is listed as Classic Travertine Vein Cut.
